Dear big-studio executives – Let me start off by saying, the more storage place a game takes up, the less players you get. Even having games with high specifications will also affect your player base. If all studios continue to release games that are 50+ gigs in size, how many games can 1 player afford to keep on their drive? Even the bandwidth required to download your game can be a huge barrier, for gamers in other parts of the world. Which is why I enjoying keeping, and playing these games below. My 5 beloved offline games, that are smaller than 1 gig.
Games, that are smaller than 1 gig
Now that my opening rant is over, lets get down to business. And please note, some of these games may eventually increase in size (if they continue to get future updates). But for now, they have earned their spots on my list.
Are there any offline games that are smaller than 1 gig?
Oooh yes, most definitely:
1. Warpips – When I checked on my drive (a few seconds ago) the game only requires a storage space of 769 MB. This game is rather fun, and unique. Grab a Steam copy here and see for yourself.
2. Quin – Yet another offline game! All you need is a drive space of 204 MB, and you are ready to go. This is a card game, and 100% playable offline, against bots. Good offline bots. [Edit: So… Here is an update, I tried to get the link of this game, and discovered that it was banned off Steam, apparently]. Read more about that whole fiasco here.
3. Bloons: Adventure Time TD – I never thought that I would find myself recommending a Cartoon Network game. But, some of them are actually good, and this tower defense is one of them. It was made perfect by the Adventure Time team, and the crew at Ninja Kiwi. Get it, it will only take up 407 MB. And, it’s also really well-made, you can have Princess Bubblegum, and many others on your team.
4. Boomerang Fu – I had to include this one! It’s definitely one of my favourite party games. If you have 586 MB to spare, you can see for yourself why I am a huge fan of this game. It has various game modes, and good offline bots! Buy Boomerang Fu here, now.
5. Fumes Demo – Yes, its a demo! But, gosh, it’s just amazing! Those who love vehicular combat should grab this game, now. I’m talking about chaos, explosions, machine guns mounted on hoods, the whole works. All in a 496 MB playable demo. You can have some intense battles with some super fun bots!
Conclusion
If you know of any other games that need to be on this list. Please, kindly post them down below, in the comments section. I look forward to hearing from y’all. Cheers!
