Bad news for Krosmaga players

If like me, you’ve been loyally playing Krosmaga over the years. The developers – Ankama, just announced some bad news for Krosmaga players.

Krosmaga, the online trading card game which needs no introduction (to those who know it), will no longer be available on mobile. Players shall no longer be able to play the game on both iOS and Android, as of the 4th of July, 2024. This means players can no longer scratch that cosmic itch, while on-the-go. If this game had an offline-mode, you might have still been able to continue playing it. But, unfortunately… it doesn’t. Though I can’t see why! How can a turn-based card game not be able to offer offline bot matches? It should be a technically-achievable feat.

Will this see a massive drop in player count? Who knows, only time will tell.

Maybe nobody was using the mobile versions, maybe. Or perhaps, the costs of maintaining the mobile versions just became too much. Some players, on the other hand… have longsince speculated that the game has bots posing as multiplayers. And, if that’s true, we should expect to see no changes in the server rooms.

That’s enough bad news for Krosmaga players. Here is a bit of good news for y’all – Ankama has finally fixed the issues with Steam.

A while back I posted an article complaining about how their game is no longer launchable on Steam. And went on to speculate that – it could be a well-orchestrated attempt to move players towards their own launcher. After more than a year of “technical issues”, the problem is now finally resolved. Should we uninstall our Ankama launchers, and go back to Steam? Lol. I feel like if we do that, the “technical issues” will magically resurface again.

Are you also struggling to find good, enjoyable, high quality video games? Me too, along with good-chunk of modern gamers. And, because of that: I started a blog that showcases the problems we have (as gamers). Alongside the solutions we need, stuff like; reviving neglected genres, embracing offline gaming, and the power of having AI players (bots). Well-made offline bots, with adjustable difficulty levels.
