Recently, I discovered a game that full of potential to become a cult classic – Last Flag. This upcoming capture-the-flag game has a fun and colorful, disco themed, art style. You can tell that a lot of love went into the animations and unique attacks. In that department, it kinda reminds me of Sunset Overdrive. They also had a lot of charm in their animations.
Our message to Last Flag
After discovering Last Flag, I noticed that the devs had NOT said anything about playing against bots, or the inclusion of an offline mode. Which is worrying, since they seem eager to recapture the magical age of gaming. Back when things felt fun!
That magical age, was also full of games with bots. Well made bots, that felt fun! And offline game modes. So, after seeing that the devs had not said anything about bots and an offline mode. Here is the message that I sent them on Facebook and other platforms.
Please add an offline mode and bots
Thank you for the amazing work that you have done with Last Flag!
If possible – may you please add offline bots (like Team Fortress 2). I (like some) struggle to enjoy and handle the anxiety associated with online gaming and chatrooms, and all that social pressure. But, I really want to be able to play this game too, alone, happily… solo. Very happily, offline.
I also totally understand if this is not a priority of much concern for the devs.
The reply from Last Flag
The fan mail above was sent to their Facebook page. I also sent similar messages to their other socials. And at first, I did not get a reply. So, I waited for some days… and sent another follow up message, saying:
Good morning, I am excitedly reaching out again to ask: does your upcoming video game have any future plans to add offline mode(s) with bots? And hopefully bots that have an adjustable difficultness level (easy, normal, hard).
They eventually replied, saying – Hello! We don’t have any information to share regarding that at this time, but we’ll make sure to share any updated information as it becomes available. Stay tuned!
Conclusion
Getting that reply from Last Flag’s Facebook account meant a lot to me! I know that the reply made zero promises, and my requests might probably go 100% ignored. But, I can’t help but hope. Even Disney’s game – Speedstorm, has an offline mode! I know that the genre is totally different… but I actually love the fact that I have an offline Disney Kart racing game. Which will NOT depend on their servers always being live.
I hope Last Flag will add a 100% offline mode, with bots that have an adjustable difficulty.
I hope.
